March 22, 2006

Hello South Shore Members

Believe it or not, we are just one month away from our first EMRA event of the 2006 season and that means renewing your club membership.

The easiest way to do this by e-mail. Just send me your name, address and phone number. Tell me if youÍre a racer, time trailer or worker. Include car make, model, class and number. I have most of this info already, but I need to update the list for 2006.

Please reply ASAP so I can forward this to EMRAÍs registrar at least one week prior to the first event.

As usual, the annual dues remains $10 for the season. I will be at Shenandoah with your membership cards and SSSC&BDS stickers.

We have new bright gold Tee shirts. A beer mug with the SSSC&BDS logo is on the front and the Beer DrinkerÍs Prayer is on the back. The shirts are $15 and available in M, L and XL. Let me know how many you want and IÍll bring them to the track.

Sorry, but no Green Flag Dinner this year. I have been too involved in my move to PA. Maybe we could do a picnic or something during the summer. Open to suggestions and someone to help organize the thing.

The correct name of our club: There has been some controversy as to what SSSC&BDS means and I am partially guilty for wrong the interpretation. Thanks to Dave ZipkinÍs insistence, I checked with long time member, Don Perry. Our group is South Shore Sports Car and Beer Drinking Society.

Please forward this message to other SSSC&BDS members and potential members.

First of all, my apologies for not being in touch. We just sold our L.I. home and have moved to Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley. The last 2 1/2 months have been crazy.

New address is 7834 Weisenberg Church Road
                      New Tripoli, PA 18066

2nd item, we are still planning our annual Green Flag Dinner to mark the start of the new race season. I will give a shout about when & where. We are planning for it to be on L.I.

3rd item is, it's time to renew membership. As usual, the annual dues are only $10. Since the club has no bank account, please make checks payable to Bob Kress.

In case you have not visited the EMRA Web site, the new Shenandoah  Circut at Summit Point is a go. It is the week before the dinner. Friday is a test day, Saturday is time trials and Sunday is racing. Don't miss the opportunity to set new track records!

Keep an eye on the EMRA website.
